At the recent World Conference for the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science in Reno, NV, I had the opportunity to sit down with and interview some leading researchers in the application of mindfulness and acceptance-based processes in psychotherapy treatment.
The first of these was with Sonja Batten, PhD, a psychologist who currently works on mental health policy for the Department of Veterans Affairs, and who has published several papers on using mindfulness in the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder. Dr. Batten is a recognized expert in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Dr. Batten generously donated her time between giving multiple conference presentations to talk about a scientific understanding of mindfulness. Check out our brief interview.
